Specialists in regional development from the Republic of Latvia are willing to cooperate with Moldovan specialists in the field

Specialists in regional development from the Republic of Latvia are willing to cooperate with Moldovan specialists in the field to advance the implementation of regional development projects. Also they look to exchange experience and knowledge needed to continue effective cooperation.

The first action was initiated at a meeting conducted by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction. Here Veaceslav Guțuțui (deputy minister of regional development and construction) along with Svetlana Rogov (chief of international relations and attract investment) and Ion Bodrug (Director of Development Agency North) met with Deputy State Secretary Andris Kuznieks (Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia) and Maris Krastins director of the State Regional Development Agency, also of the Republic of Latvia.

During the meeting representatives of concerned institutions in regional development prospects discussed inter-institutional cooperation. They also explained the mechanisms of activity of the two corresponding ministries and mentioned impediments in the implementation process of regional development projects. Vyacheslav Guțuțui (Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction) informed the guests of the ministry's successes during 2010. He presented the specific activity of the Regional Development Agencies and the specified location of each part of the mechanism, their role.

Also, the Deputy Minister informed the representatives of Latvia MPMDR on regional development projects to be implemented thru 2012 as well as those approved for financing in 2010. Northern Agency Director, Ion Bodrug, said they will be working with the State Agency for Regional Development of Latvia, under the cooperation agreement signed by both parties. Maris Andris and Krastins Kuznieks expressed gratitude for the cooperation of Moldova MDRC representatives and have vowed to continue dialogue to sign a inter-minstrial cooperation agreement.
