RDA North Director, Ion Bodrug, participates in a seminar on regional development in EU

Director of the Northern Regional Development Agency (RDA North), Ion Bodrug, today, June 28^th, participates in a seminar on regional development in the European Union (EU).

The agenda for the seminar, which will run throughout the day, includes topics related to aspects of pilot programs in regional development, through which 7 million Euros will be allocated for regional development in Moldova from 2012-2013.

Directorate General for Regional Policy European Commission (DG REGIO) within the European Commission (EC) is one of the organizers of the seminar. The mission of the seminar is to strengthen social and territorial cohesion by reducing disparities between levels of development of regions and EU countries.

Also, at the seminar the following topics will be discussed: regional EU principles that inspire neighboring countries, their influence in the actual development of regional policy, and a case study on the experience of Latvia and Poland in the field.

The event involved Marcel Raducan, Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Raphaël Goulet, Director General for Regional Policy European Commission, Charles White, DG REGIO, also representatives of central government and regional development agencies, representatives of the private business sector and associations.
