Working visit to the village Duruitoarea Veche, Riscani

Duruitoarea VecheSpecialists from the North Regional Development Agency (RDA North) with the consultant from the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), Margaret Vameș, and District Council representatives of Riscani conducted on July 7th a visit to the community of Costesti in the village of Duruitoarea Veche. Here the ongoing project "Provision of water and sewerage services to villagers of Duruitoarea Veche and Costesti village, raion Riscani", funded by the GIZ.

Initially, it was visited by the Riscani District Council. During the visit, which was attended by the President CR Riscani, Ion Parea, discussed the process of updating the strategy of socio-economic district Riscani and the actors in this process.

He attended a meeting with the mayor of Costesti, Ion Plesca, which together with representatives of RDA North, GIZ and CR Riscani all went to the village for a meeting with residents of Duruitoarea Veche.

At the meeting, the representative of GIZ reported on the project in Duruitoarea Veche and information activities supported by the initiative group of residents in the locality. It was presented technical project water supply and sanitation (WSS) of Duruitoarea Veche village. The villagers were informed that the RDA North will implement the project and the local initiative group together with the LPAs will monitor progress of construction of water supply systems and sanitation. The work of the village water supply and central sewage system will be fully covered by the GIZ.

To connect to central sewer system of the villagers, APL will seek other financial sources.

The mayor's office of Costesti is the project applicant. The overall objective is to create affordable access to the AAC for Duruitoarea Veche villagers. The total project budget is 2,100 thousand lei, and its implementation timetable is 1 year. The target group are 470 villagers in Duruitoarea Veche; "Costesti Water Canal" and about 3000 water consumption of the village Costesti.
