The North Regional Development Agency (RDA North) organizes for the first time in Moldova, The international conference titled "Opportunities for socio-economic development in the North Development Region by the year 2020", which will take place from the 21st to the 22nd of May 2013, within Polyvalent Hall at the State University "Alecu Russo" in Balti, (central block, entrance at 38 Pușkin Street).
Organizing the conference with the assistance of North RDA partners, the Ministries of Environmental Protection and Regional Development from the Republic of Latvia, is an excellent opportunity to promote the potential of the North Region by establishing vectors of socio-economic development of the region. The event will mark the beginning of the elaboration process for the North Region's socio-economic development strategy up to the year 2020.
At the conference, about 150 participants will come together: regional actors, national and international academics in the country, and entrepreneurs who will discuss the opportunities for socio-economic development of the Northern Development Region by the year 2020 and propose solutions for supporting business and developing human capital in the region, for implementing technological innovations polycentric urban development and to identify opportunities for attracting investment and creating public-private partnerships. The conference will be organized so that participants have the opportunity to participate in the two plenary sessions and to express their views in themed panels.
On this occasion, Regional Trade Fair Projects will be organized in which participants will have the opportunity to become more familiar with the investment potential of the region and to identify investors for project proposals.
Some of the external partners invited to attend the event are: the European Union Delegation to Moldova, the West Regional Development Agency (Romania), representatives of the EU project "Technical Assistance to Sector Budget Support Program - Economic Stimulation in Rural Areas (ESRA), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Embassies of Romania, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Sweden, USA etc..
By organizing this event, The North RDA clearly demonstrates its commitment to accelerating the development process to ensure balanced and sustainable socio-economic development of the North Region by reducing socio-economic imbalances within the region as well as supporting regional actors in creating partnerships.
