Farmers in Briceni district decided to create an association in order to attract an investor from Latvia that intends to build a potatoes processing plant in Corjeuti. This is the first step towards the next objective - to open a potato processing plant that will offer new businesses development opportunities to local farmers", said the director of the Regional Development Agency Nord, Ion Bodrug.

In the meeting held in Corjeuţi, an initiative group was set up to found a regional association of potato producers. After the registration of the association, its members will pay a fact-finding visit to Latvia.

The idea of opening a potato processing plant in Corjeuti was discussed in a roundtable meeting staged within the third edition of the Days of the Nord Development Region that involved farmers from Corjeuti and their partners from the Latvian region Aloja.
